HOULTON, Maine — A report of a suspicious vehicle resulted in a southern Aroostook man and woman being arrested Wednesday, Aug. 4, on drug charges.
Sgt. William Janakis and officer Ethan Jacques were called to Water Street around 5:44 p.m. for a report of a suspicious incident. What the two officers found were a man and woman unconscious inside a parked vehicle.
Lacey D. Dunlop, 30, of Hodgdon and Robert E. Brewer, 29, of Linneus were both unconscious, but police were able to rouse the pair, according to Houlton Police Chief Tim DeLuca. The two denied the need for medical assistance.
Upon interacting with the pair, police conducted a more extensive search of the individuals and their vehicle. That search revealed suspected drugs, paraphernalia and a large sum of cash.
Officers seized 12 grams of presumed fentanyl, $24,500 in cash and the vehicle. Both Dunlop and Brewer were arrested for aggravated trafficking of scheduled drugs — a Class A felony.
Cpl. Mallory Clayton and officer Sean Farrell assisted in the investigation.
