HOULTON, Maine — The Salvation Army of Houlton continues its 133-year tradition of assistance to families throughout the year and at Christmas.
Those who live in the Houlton area and are in need of assistance, are asked to bring an identification card for each member of the family (birth certificate or medicare or Maine Care Card), proof of residence and income and expenses to see if they qualify.
Applications are available now and interviews will be done on the following dates: October 20-22 from 9 a.m. to noon and 1-3 p.m. Due to limited staff and resources, no applications will be accepted after these dates without evidence of an emergency.
Supporters wishing to help those in need can call for an Angel Tree information packet. Volunteer bell ringers are also desired starting Nov. 19 to Dec. 24.
