CARIBOU, Maine — Micmac Farms will host biweekly winter markets on Saturdays, beginning Oct. 23 and going through Dec. 18.
Doors will open at 9 a.m. and close at 1 p.m. There will be a blend of vendors at each market, from home knitters to Maine made teas, all the way to eco-friendly self-care items.
Ayana Green, the marketing manager for Micmac Farms housed under the Mi’kmaq Nation, said, “These markets are a great way for the community to come together. We here at Micmac Farms strive for the community to come first and foremost, from getting our goods out the door as fresh as possible and into the hands of those who need it most, to being sure that other small businesses in The County feel supported.”
Vendors from across The County will be present with products such as teas and herbs, honey, crafts and more. There will be live music from locals who love to strum and sing and hot lunches served by Micmac Farms throughout the day.
“We’re hoping that everyone feels a sense of community walking through the doors this season,” Green said.

New vendors are welcome to sign up for each event, but spots are limited, so be sure to contact Green at agreen@micmac-nsn.gov as soon as possible.
Winter market Saturdays are Oct. 23, Nov. 6, Nov. 20, Dec. 4 and Dec. 18.
Micmac Farms is a small tribally owned farm located along Route 1 in Caribou. The mixed vegetable garden market also houses approximately 48,000 Maine brook trout in its on-site hatchery.
Through partnerships with Good Shepherd Food Bank, this year the farm donated approximately 8,000 pounds of produce to local food pantries, programs and community members.
