Tomorrow on Thanksgiving Day a community Thanksgiving dinner will be served on a drive-thru basis at the Mapleton Lions Club. The dinner will be prepared by Bob and Darcy McBay of the Mapleton Diner and will be served to community residents by the Lions in appreciation for their support.

The menu consists of the roast turkey breast and stuffing, mashed potatoes, peas, cranberry sauce, roll and butter and a choice of apple or pumpkin pie. Club members along with several community volunteers, will help Darcy and Bob serve, package and hand out the dinners. The drive-thru will start at 11 a.m. and continue to 12:30 p.m. or until the food runs out.

There will be volunteers who will deliver Thanksgiving dinners to seniors, shut-ins and the disabled, all of whom would have difficultly coming into town to pick up their meals. Those wishing home deliveries should contact the Mapleton Diner.

Donations will be accepted to support Mapleton Lions Club charitable services. The club follows the international organization’s two mottos: “Where there is a need, there’s a Lion” and “We serve.”
The Mapleton Lions Club has been able to live up to those mottos for the past 64 years, because of the community support from our businesses and citizens.

Mapleton Daze Auction a Success
The Mapleton Daze Committee thanks all who bid and purchased the many items in their online silent auction. This year’s auction was the third annual online auction and the funds raised will support many special activities of the 2022 Mapleton Daze Weekend next June.
Over the past three years, the committee found this event to be a really fun event to participate in and bidders can get some great deals while helping raise funds for next year’s Mapleton Daze. The committee thanks everyone who participated and showed their support for Mapleton Daze 2022.
The committee especially wants donors of the items and services to know how much their contributions were appreciated, because with your donation the auction would not have possible.
