PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — The Office of Governor Janet Mills has announced the appointment  of local Aroostook County real estate broker Jane Towle as a Member of  the Maine Real Estate Commission.

The Real Estate Commission was  established to protect the public through the regulation of the real estate  industry in Maine. It consists of five Members and is charged with the  duty of supervising real estate licensees in a manner to ensure that they  meet standards which will promote public understanding and confidence  in the business of real estate brokerage.

Jane has been involved in real estate enterprise for over 30 years,  currently as Broker/Owner of RE/MAX County in Presque Isle, with  agents covering regions from Fort Kent to Bar Harbor.

“The real estate industry has played an important role in my life”, said  Jane. “It’s crucial that we as real estate agents and brokers continue to  work hard every day to build consumer trust and maintain competency.  The Real Estate Commission is the regulatory backbone of our industry,  ensuring high standards which the public deserves. I’m honored to have  been chosen and grateful to have the opportunity to serve.”

Jane was sworn in on November 10th and will attend her first meeting  this month.

Jane is married to her husband Paul Towle, and they have two sons,  Justin and Jacob. They returned home to live and work in Aroostook  County in 2004 after living in Southern New England for 22 years.
