Spaghetti drive-thru to benefit Mapleton Daze

Last week the announcement was made that the first event coming this spring to support Mapleton Daze is the upcoming drive-thru spaghetti dinner fundraiser.

The committee announced the dinner will be held at the Mapleton Lions Hall on Saturday, March 26, starting at 4:30 p.m. and running until the food is gone or 6 p.m., whichever comes first.  The committee will be accepting donations that be used to fund this summer’s Mapleton Daze.  There no set fee but the committee suggests a donation of $10 for the meal combo.

What’s on the menu?  The meal consists of: spaghetti with the choice of meat sauce or just plain sauce with a roll and a homemade dessert.  A choice of a bottle of water or a can of soda will be part of the meal. The Mapleton Daze Committee reminds everyone they have the best cooks in The County.

Lynnette Foster, Mapleton Daze event president, said, “Let us do the cooking and the dishes. What a deal.  We need everyone’s help to raise the funds needed to put on the many events of Mapleton Daze Week in June 2022.”

This dinner will be a drive-thru where there will be no need to get out of your vehicle as meals will be passed to you through your vehicle window. Drivers will enter the Mapleton Lions Hall driveway on the west side and circle around the back of the hall to collect their dinners on the east side before exiting the driveway.

Home delivery of meals will be available for individuals who are shut-in or not able to attend, but would like to receive and enjoy a homemade spaghetti dinner.  For home delivery, please contact any member of the Mapleton Daze Committee.

Whether you are able to come to the Mapleton Lions Hall to pick up meals, or will get them by home delivery, the Mapleton Daze Committee will benefit from your donations for this meal.

The Mapleton Daze Committee asks everyone to invite all of your friends and family to come out and have a great meal and help raise funds for Mapleton’s favorite summer event.

On April 9, the Mapleton Daze Committee will host their annual spring craft and vendor sale at the Mapleton Lions Hall from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The hall will have two floors of crafters and vendors similar to this scene from a previous sale. (Courtesy of Terry Sandusky)

Everyone is welcome to come and browse two floors filled with talented local people and obtain gifts and other items just in time for Easter and Mother’s Day.

There will be more than 20 crafters and vendors coming to the fair. They will have lots of homemade items for sale. Rumor has it that the Easter Bunny will be making an appearance for photos with the little ones. Stay tuned for the times on his appearance.

Mapleton Daze is pleased to support the small communities of Mapleton, Chapman and Castle Hill and the local crafters and vendors who reside close by. At the moment our spots are filled, but if you would like to be put on a waiting list, please personal message our Mapleton Daze Facebook Page. The Mapleton Daze Committee suggests readers can learn more about the fair at their Mapleton Daze Facebook page.

Please note that currently, the committee will require those attending to wear masks. This could change as the date comes closer.
