HOULTON, Maine — The Gentle Memorial Building was hopping with activity Saturday morning as the Houlton Recreation Department got an early head start on celebrating Easter.
About 250 youngsters, parents and grandparents came to the recreation center to view a free magic show performed by Carroll Chapman, a magician from central Maine who performs as “Conjuring Carroll.”
Featuring a mixture of magic and comedy, Chapman delighted the large group of youngsters who gathered on the floor in front of him.
At the conclusion of the event, each youngster had an opportunity to visit with the Easter Bunny and receive a goody bag of candy and trinkets. Approximately 90 goodie bags were passed out during the event.
“It was great to have so many families back for this fun Easter event,” Recreation Director Marie Carmichael said. “Needless to say, the surprise Easter Bunny appearance at the end was an added bonus to the show.”
