James Tweedie of Blaine (center) recently marked his 95th birthday, and friends at the Aroostook Agency on Aging office in Presque Isle surprised him with a cake and card.
With him are Joy Barresi Saucier (left), agency executive director, and Rev. Kenneth Phelps, agency board president. Tweedie is vice president and has served on the board since 2000. A lifelong potato farmer, he owned and operated his own farm for more than 60 years. He served on the boards of the Maine Department of Environmental Protection, Maine State Board of Real Estate Appraisers, Maine Potato Council, ARTS, and is past president of the Northern Maine Development Commission.
