HOULTON, Maine – The Houlton Council of Catholic Women met at 5:30 p.m. on April 4, for its monthly meeting. There were six members and Father Kevin present.
Following the luncheon, President Janet Barker led in our prayer, salute to the flag and cross and hymn. Alta Reardon read the secretary’s report and the monthly correspondence. Mary Grant gave the treasurer’s report.
A prize calendar fundraiser was discussed. The calendar will have a prize for each day of the month of June. Members will donate prizes and solicit from local businesses. Tickets will be sold before and after masses.
Birthdays and anniversaries were noted for the months of March and April. Father Kevin won the door prize. Prayers were gathered and Barker led in a decade of the Rosary.
After the meeting, members and Father Kevin addressed Easter cards for shut-ins. Our next meeting will be on May 2 in the Parish Center. All Catholic ladies are welcome to attend.
