Limestone to hold annual elections, town meeting in June

LIMESTONE, Maine — Limestone residents will elect new town and school leaders during the annual election on Tuesday, June 14.

The election will take place from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the Limestone Community School gymnasium. The town’s annual meeting will occur at 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 15, in the LCS auditorium.

Voters will get the chance to elect one new selectboard member and two school board members.

Selectboard Chairperson James Pelkey’s term is expiring and he is not running for reelection. Tadd Devoe and Randy Brooker are both seeking to fill the vacant seat.

School Board Chairperson Kathie Beaulieu is seeking reelection while current Vice Chair Michelle Albert has chosen not to run again. Albert’s term expires in June. Amy Edgecomb and Amanda Smith are vying to fill Beaulieu’s and Albert’s seats.

Limestone Water and Sewer District Board member James Cote is running unopposed for reelection.
