To the editor:
The morning of the Fourth of July I sat on our deck watching the flags on Main Street that some patriotic heroes had placed.
As a small breeze would come up the flags would unfurl and become straight out. The wind would calm and the flags would cling closer to the poles.
This reminded me of when something in our country happens that is great. Most of America will be blessed with joy in their hearts, but sometimes that joy doesn’t last forever.
So let’s salute our American flags and be very thankful that we can proudly thank all who celebrate our independence on this great Fourth of July.
Thanks to the heroes in Presque Isle for raising the flags.
