HOULTON, Maine — Gregg Swallow, a Republican, is a candidate for the Maine House of Representatives in District 7 serving citizens in Houlton, Linneus, Ludlow, New Limerick and Oakfield.
Prior to the redistricting, Swallow represented Maine House District 144 in the 129th Legislature.
A Houlton High School graduate, Swallow obtained a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Maine at Orono. In his professional life he has pursued a career that includes finance, economic development and marketing.
“I believe my business experience in economic development and finance, combined with my lifelong interest in our region, enables me to represent the current needs of our Southern Aroostook area,” Swallow said.
Swallow’s goals are working for the economic prosperity of Southern Aroostook and maintaining individual freedoms and limited government for all Mainers. He is especially concerned about burdensome regulations that affect local businesses, he said.
Among his civic commitments, Swallow has served seven years on the board of the Greater Houlton Christian Academy as president and treasurer. He currently serves as president of the board of Houlton Housing for the Elderly and is a member of the Rotary Club of Houlton. He was the executive producer of “The Story of Houlton” Bicentennial video produced in 2007.
He is married to Kristy (Blake) Swallow and they reside in Houlton.
