To the editor:
It amazes me that now, within three weeks of the elections, we hear Democrats suddenly trumpeting Republican stances on practically every issue Americans have pointed to as priorities: inflation and the economy, the wide-open southern border, spiking fuel prices, crime.
Democrats are doing this because their stances on these issues are destroying us, individually and as a country.
Insanity is defined as doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. So seeing what Democrats have done to our country in just two years, why would anyone vote for any Democrat, seeing as they vote as a block?
So I picked climate change, an issue they trumpet loudly, and tried to see their side. I, too, believe we should move toward greener alternatives if they make sense. But I also realize those real, practical changes won’t happen for several decades. Why then did Biden and company cancel the pipeline from Canada which would have provided millions of barrels daily, place stringent regulations for new oil leases, and threaten oil refineries not to upgrade their facilities and begin to shut them down? Any objective, sane person would have objected to these moves, as many Republicans did — loudly. But there are either no sane Democrats or they’re all scared to death of the far-left radicals in the party.
When Biden entered office, he inherited from President Trump a country that was energy independent, which was also the largest oil exporter in the world. The U.S. is also, by far, the cleanest producer of oil and gas, according to Fox News. In two short years, Biden and company have totally crippled this industry, even though they knew we’d need these fossil fuels for decades to come and they stoked fear of climate change to do it.
Biden has had to beg Saudi Arabia for more oil, which they refused. Now he’s going to Iran and Venezuela, both horrible regimes, on bended knee. Both countries produce filthy oil which pollutes the environment horribly. Way to go, Mr. President and company.
