To the editor:
Jared Golden said that he had the backs of American people. Well, I don’t agree with that, but I do know in the last 20 months he has voted to put an almost $5 trillion debt on the backs of the American people.
The last $1.9 trillion he voted to spend, the so-called, laughably titled Deficit Reduction Act, included funding to add 87,000 more IRS agents to hop on the “backs” of Americans. So I guess in a way you could say Golden has their backs.
During his ad campaign years ago, I remember he wore a T-shirt that read “Pain is weakness leaving the body.” To this day I say “Relief is Golden leaving Congress.”
On an unrelated note, this winter when home heating oil reaches $8 or $10 a gallon or more, you can thank the entire Democratic Party, who did everything in their power to drastically reduce production of fossil fuels in our country — fossil fuels which we have in abundance here in America — all on the altar of climate change. This party has placed the lives of Americans in danger for no other reason than to grovel to climate extremists.
Biden could start immediately to get a handle on this entire inflation fiasco if he would just grow a spine and admit he was wrong in closing Keystone. Open it back up and get rid of the foolish regulations they’ve strangled oil leases and oil production with these last two years. Just doing these easy steps would bring gas and oil prices down substantially and quickly. Then all other inflation would follow — food and other products — because transport prices would dive out of the Biden-created stratosphere.
However, I doubt this will happen under this president because it’s common sense, something Biden just does not possess. But maybe he can buy some from Iran or Venezuela.
