Limestone chooses new town leaders during annual election

LIMESTONE, Maine — New leaders will join Limestone’s town boards and committees after Tuesday’s election.

Residents Alan Mulherin and Stephen Brooker received 84 and 82 votes, respectively, for seats on the Select Board. Incumbent Jesse Philbrick was the third candidate and received 36 votes.

Both Mulherin and Brooker will serve three–year terms. Former Select Board member Fred Pelletier opted not to run again.

Write-in candidates included Tom Albert and Tadd Devoe, who each received three votes. Steve Beaulieu received two votes while Pelletier and Brett Edgecomb each received one vote.

Charles Hartman received 113 votes for a seat on the school committee, replacing outgoing chair Shaun Guerrette. Write-in candidates Pelletier and Devoe received one vote each.

Robbie Caldwell was appointed to the Limestone Water & Sewer District board of trustees with 108 votes. Write-in candidate Pelletier received two votes. Devoe, Andy Caldwell, Brian Weston and Robert Butler received one vote each.
