Northern Maine Moose lacrosse players Isaiah Ervin and Colton Simoes represented their Houlton team at the Maine Underclassmen Lacrosse Showcase tryouts on Monday, June 19.
Simoes was one of only a few freshmen selected to participate in a group of more than 150 Maine players.
Ervin had a great showing and was selected among the top 50 players to play in the showcase game Wednesday night, June 21, at Thornton Academy.
Houlton was mentioned numerous times in conversations and as part of the closing speech by the head coach, said Coach Adam Simoes, who attended the showcase.
“Thank you both for representing well and putting Houlton on the Maine high school lacrosse map,” the coach said. “People are talking about and watching Northern Maine Moose Houlton lacrosse.”
This was the Moose Boys lacrosse team’s first varsity season.
