FORT FAIRFIELD, Maine — Police in Fort Fairfield have arrested four people allegedly involved in a drug trafficking ring.
Officers arrested Fort Fairfield resident Troy Soucy, 31, at around 11 p.m. July 1, after discovering during a traffic stop that he had three active arrest warrants against him.
Soucy is charged with unlawful trafficking in scheduled drugs (methamphetamine and fentanyl) and violating conditions of release, according to Fort Fairfield Police Chief Matthew Cummings.
An investigation led officers to search Soucy’s home at 290 South Caribou Road, where they allegedly seized more methamphetamine and fentanyl and arrested three more people.
Police are charging Kevin Doody, 25, of Woodland and David Franz, 40, of Fort Fairfield with unlawful trafficking of scheduled drugs. Franz was also charged with violating conditions of release. Doody and Franz’s bail was set at $10,000 and $2,500 cash each, and both were transferred to Aroostook County Jail..
Courtney Libby, 22, of Woodland, was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of schedule W drugs.
Police seized 20 grams of fentanyl, 26.8 grams of methamphetamine and other illicit prescription drugs during the traffic stop and search of Soucy’s home, Cummings said.
Soucy was transported to the Aroostook County Jail in Houlton. His bail was set at $5,000 cash or $10,000 surety.
All four people will make their initial court appearance on Sept. 13 at Presque Isle Unified Court.
