3-Day Outlook: Wednesday, July 12-Friday, July 14
Partly cloudy skies start the day with partly sunny skies expected this afternoon. A weak cold front affects the region today with showers likely and a chance for isolated/scattered afternoon thunderstorms. Isolated to scattered thunderstorms may produce locally strong wind gusts this afternoon. Loss of daytime heating winds down shower activity in the evening with partly cloudy skies developing overnight as the cold front stalls out over the region. Patchy fog is possible overnight into Thursday. Wednesday’s high reaches the mid-80s with a low Wednesday night into the low 60s. It will be a bit less muggy with dew points dropping into the lower 60s overnight.
Thursday, high pressure briefly builds in, then another disturbance moves across the region producing a chance for some isolated afternoon/evening showers. Dew points will increase later in the day with muggy conditions returning to the St. John Valley. Overnight, mostly cloudy skies with a chance for showers can be expected, especially after midnight. Daytime highs top out in the low 80s with overnight lows in the mid-60s.
Friday, the longwave trough remains to our west with disturbances circulating around a large upper-level low over the Hudson Bay. These disturbances will bring a chance for showers Friday morning then showers likely Friday afternoon with isolated/scattered thunderstorms. Gusty southerly winds are also possible with gusts to 25 mph possible Friday afternoon. Friday night, mostly cloudy skies with showers are likely along with isolated thunderstorms overnight.
