PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Local law enforcement was informed of an alleged threat to school safety made by a student at the Zippel Elementary School and determined it was not credible.
SAD 1 issued a memo Monday night saying that local law enforcement was made aware and investigated the threat but found it to not be credible. No details about the nature of the threat were included in the memo.
The threat was made Monday night, which prompted an immediate response from SAD 1.
Zippel Elementary School was in session Tuesday.
The police were notified at around 6 p.m. and after interviewing the child who had made the threat it was deemed not to be credible by police with no potential for violence, according to Superintendent Ben Greenlaw.
Zippel Elementary School Principal Christopher Hallett was not immediately available for comment.
