PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Northern Maine Community College is pleased to announce the success of its open house event, which took place Friday, Oct. 13. The event welcomed prospective students from Aroostook County high schools and beyond, and attracted a significant attendance from student prospects interested in quality, cost-effective education within a personalized and close-knit community.
Over 300 prospective students, their families, and community members visited the NMCC campus for the event, transforming the campus into a vibrant hub of activity. The event offered a wide range of information sessions and tours, and provided a comprehensive look at what NMCC has to offer.
“We are thrilled by the turnout and enthusiasm displayed by all who attended our open house,” said Sarah Stackhouse, director of admissions at NMCC. “The success of this event underscores the strong interest in higher education and career development within our community. NMCC is committed to providing accessible, quality education, and we are always excited to meet with prospective students and show them why NMCC is a great educational option right here in Aroostook County.”
During the event, prospective students were given guided campus tours where they had the opportunity to explore NMCC’s advanced facilities, including modern classrooms and simulation centers, labs, and student services areas. Visitors were also able to learn about NMCC’s diverse program offerings and engage with NMCC’s faculty and staff; this included an opportunity to gain insight into financial aid information, admissions guidance, and NMCC’s student life community. Students and chaperones also enjoyed a complimentary meal in NMCC’s Reed Dining Commons, a visit from the Falcon, and treats from the County Kettle Corn food truck.
