The Probus Club of Aroostook held their monthly meeting on Thursday, Sept. 19, at Northern Maine Community College.
Janet Snow introduced speakers Terry Sandusky and his wife, Susanne, who presented a list of the total course offerings for the Seniors Achieving Greater Education program held at the University of Maine at Presque Isle.
SAGE has been a working organization establishment for more than 25 years. Terry Sandusky showed a video he made that covered the purposes and aims of SAGE for all adults ages 50 years old and up. Courses are taught by volunteers, who are devoted learners themselves, willing to share their knowledge on a wide range of topics.
There is a small registration fee for the courses, which include a broad range of interests from health issues, crafts, music, art, film, ancestry, computer technology, poetry, science and field trips around the area.
The Sanduskys took questions and showed a video of current courses.
For information people can visit SAGE on Facebook.
Probus welcomes new members who are interested in all that is taking place in The County. Monthly speakers discuss features that make the area special.
Janet Snow gave a short reading on the advantages of remaining optimistic.
The next meeting of Probus will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 19, at Northern Maine Community College’s Reed Commons.
