LIMESTONE, Maine — Limestone’s regular Select Board meeting will be rescheduled, Interim Town Manager Alan Mulherin said Wednesday.
The board typically meets on the first and third Wednesday every month. They were set to meet tonight at 6 p.m. to welcome new recreation committee members, discuss the potential sale of Trafton Lake Campground and possibly hire an accounting firm to assist office staff with payroll records.
But due to illness and family issues pertaining to board members, tonight’s meeting will be held at a later date, Mulherin said. Though the time has not been confirmed, the board will likely meet on Tuesday, Nov. 21.
“I’m polling the Select Board to see if they wish to reschedule tonight’s meeting to Tuesday, Nov. 21 at 6 p.m.,” Mulherin said Tuesday afternoon.
The meeting change will not impact the special town meeting set for 6:30 p.m. next Wednesday, Nov. 22, at Limestone Community School’s auditorium. That night residents will vote on allowing town officials to spend $54,000, which will cover $52,007 in employment taxes, interest, penalties and fees owed to the Internal Revenue Service.
Other items up for vote include the following.
Approving $275,000 for the final purchase of the town’s solar project with the Maine School of Science and Mathematics.
Using $260,000 from the Public Works reserve account to purchase a plow truck.
Transferring $50,000 from the town’s undesignated fund balance to a tax revaluation account.
Earmarking no more than $17,000 to upgrade the town’s TRIO software for tax assessment.
Allowing the Select Board to accept and potentially approve bids of sale or lease for Trafton Lake Campground.
Approving a local food and community self-governance ordinance to align with Maine’s food sovereignty law.
