3-Day Outlook: Wednesday, Dec. 13-Friday, Dec. 15
A cold front will move through the Crown of Maine this morning with current radar imagery showing a band of light to moderate/locally heavy snow showers mainly between Eagle Lake and Portage on Highway 11 and New Sweden and Caribou/Washburn. Folks traveling in these areas should monitor rapidly changing conditions.
An upper-level trough will swing across the Northeast today with high pressure building in overnight into Thursday. High pressure at the surface and aloft will build across the area Friday with blustery west winds continuing. A moisture-starved cold front crosses the Valley Friday night into Saturday morning with no significant precipitation expected.

4- to 7-day Outlook: Saturday, Dec. 16-Tuesday, Dec. 19
High pressure will build in Saturday into Sunday morning with partly cloudy skies for Fort Kent. Clouds will increase Sunday afternoon/evening as low pressure over the Southeast US is expected to trek northwards, but models are not consistent with the low’s track at present. An area of low pressure looks to track north along the East Coast creating a rain event for the Valley Monday into Monday night changing to snow Tuesday morning. However, the exact track of the low will determine the precise impact on The County, which should become more clear as the week progresses.
