PRESQUE ISLE, Maine – Presque Isle artist Lewis Sandler will exhibit his creative work at the Aroostook Agency on Aging during the First Friday Art Walk on Friday, February 2 from 4:30-7 p.m. in the Artists for Aging gallery at 260 Main Street.

Lewis Sandler BS, JD from Massachusetts now lives in Presque Isle in his quiet, semi-secluded log cabin and spends his free time taking and creating photographs and artistic images.

After nearly 30 years living and working in Beijing at a science and technology university as an undergraduate and PhD instructor, he returned home to the USA in late 2019 with tens of thousands of images of China and Asia. Since then, he has exhibited some of his collection at several art galleries in Presque Isle, Fort Fairfield and Limestone.

Switching creative ideas from his photography, he now focuses on his unique, sometimes bizarre and one-of-a-kind mandala art, which is available for sale as original art, prints and custom framing.

As he says, “I get my inspiration for my images from observing the world around me, its peoples, its buildings, movies, books etc. Everywhere and anywhere!”

The Artists for Aging event is free and open to the public. For more  information, please call the Agency on Aging at 207-764-3396 or 1-800-439-1789. Those  exhibiting works as part of “Artists for Aging” initiative have generously donated 20 percent of  their sales to support programs and services offered by Aroostook Agency on Aging.
