The Maine State Police were in Washburn on Tuesday seeking a woman who has been missing since 2021.
Attiin Shaw, 36, was reported missing to the Washburn Police Department in late 2021, according to Shannon Moss, Maine Department of Public Safety spokesperson.
“On Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2024, troopers, evidence response technicians and detectives with the Major Crimes Unit North were at Shaw’s residence on Washburn Road as part of their investigation,” Moss said.
Shaw, originally from Indonesia, moved to Washburn with her husband and four children in 2020. The state police joined the case in early 2023, Moss said.
Officers have not discovered any alternative addresses or anything to indicate she could be living somewhere else, Moss said.
Police did not provide a description of Shaw but they have previously released two photos. No other information was immediately available.
Police are asking the public’s help to find Shaw, Moss said. Anyone with information on her whereabouts should contact the Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit at 207-532-5400 or toll-free at 800-924-2261.
Shaw is the second missing person from Washburn to be investigated in less than a week. The Aroostook County Sheriff’s Office on Feb. 9 reported the disappearance of 39-year-old Eric Foote. Foote, 5 feet 11 inches and 155 pounds, was last seen near the Presque Isle Freshies convenience store, police said.
Anyone with information on Foote’s location should call the sheriff’s office at 800-432-7842.
