Hannah Lovley, a senior at Fort Kent Community High School, has been selected to receive the 2024 Principal’s Award, Principal John Kaleta announced earlier this month.
The award, sponsored by the Maine Principals’ Association, is given in recognition of a high school senior’s academic achievement and citizenship. Lovley is the daughter of Michelle and Shawn Lovley of Fort Kent.
“During her high school career, she has been an exemplary leader in various capacities, serving as a dedicated member of student government as a class officer, contributing to the success of our link crew, and leading by example as one of the leaders of the National Honor Society,” Kaleta said.
Beyond the classroom, she has displayed incredible athleticism as a three-sport varsity athlete since freshman year, earning numerous accolades for her achievements.
“However, what truly sets this Hannah apart is her selfless nature, remarkable teamwork, and commitment to community service, accumulating over 50 hours of meaningful contributions to our local community,” Kaleta said.
Hannah, Kaleta and other award winners and their principals will participate in the Maine Principals’ Association Principal’s Award Banquet at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 6, in Bangor.
Ten $1,000 scholarships will be drawn in the names of former Maine principals and association executive directors: Horace O. McGowan, Richard W. Tyler and Richard A. Durost.
The Principal’s Award is presented in more than 180 Maine public and private high schools by member principals of the Maine Principals’ Association, the professional association which represents Maine’s school administrators.
