The County Community Players announce 2024 season

The County Community Players have announced their 2024 season and season tickets are on sale now. The spring performance will be “Steel Magnolias” by Robert Harling on April 19, 20, 26, 27 and 28. The 1989 movie was based on this play that depicts iconic friendships between women of all ages. Friday and Saturday show times are 7 p.m., with a Sunday matinee at 2 p.m.

For the first time, a summer production will be held in late July. “Rabbit Hole”, by David Lindsay-Abaire, the recipient of the 2007 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, explores the complexity of a family navigating deep grief and learning what it means to live a fruitful life when things fall apart. The fall musical “Ride the Cyclone” by Jacob Richmond and Brooke Maxwell became a Gen Z hit in 2022. Full of vaudeville-style numbers, this gritty comedy has the potential to be unsettling, thrilling, or both. Continuing the tradition started in 2023, a Christmas show will take place in December. All shows will take place on the UMPI campus in the Gauvin Family Center for Cultural Arts. General admission for all shows is $15, and for the first time, season tickets are available.

2024 season tickets are now on sale at The Northeastland Hotel and Goin’ Postal in Presque Isle, and Gallagher Insurance in Caribou. Season tickets allow for entrance to four shows for one person, a $10 savings. For more information, contact the Players at thecountyplayers@gmail.com. Season tickets will also be available at the door for “Steel Magnolias”.
