LIMESTONE, Maine — Each year Career Systems Development, the parent company of the Loring Job Corps Center, asks its centers to nominate a community organization that has stepped up to ensure the overall mission of Job Corps is met. The nomination is based on recognizing organizations that uphold the same level of core values that Loring has on a daily basis. The organization selected must demonstrate a sound level of commitment, integrity , growth, accountability, respect and safety each and every day while also presenting to the community a positive can-do attitude in all of its duties.
This year Loring nominated the Limestone Fire Department for recognition of the organization’s unsurpassed support for the center and its students. Without a solid fire department, Loring would not be able to achieve the success we have achieved and will continue to achieve for years to come.
For over the past 27 years Limestone Fire has been instrumental in providing the much needed fire safety to ensure Loring Job Corps can continue training students year round and ensure every student is safe in its residential facility. This group of volunteer firefighters has continued to show selfless service and never hesitates to sacrifice their personal time to meet the needs of their community. Limestone Fire can be found doing their just duty no matter the hour or weather and with this donation the many staff and students at Loring hope these funds can be used to continue making Limestone Fire the best it can be and showcase what can happen when a group of volunteers come together in support of a community.
Loring Job Corps and Career Systems Development also wishes to thank the Limestone Development Foundation & Chamber of Commerce for agreeing to act as the fiscal sponsor for this make a difference donation, and we look forward to many additional community collaboration events in the future. By working together we are making Loring and Limestone a great place to live, work and grow.
