VAN BUREN, Maine — Van Buren High School is proud to announce Mallory Beaulieu as the recipient of the prestigious Maine Principal’s Award. Mallory’s outstanding contributions to the school community have left an indelible mark, making her a deserving recipient of this honor.
Throughout her high school journey, Mallory has exhibited exceptional leadership qualities, serving as class president for all four years. Her commitment to excellence extended to the National Honor Society, where she served as vice president during her junior year, and later took on the role of NHS president as a senior.
Mallory’s accomplishments in extracurricular activities are nothing short of remarkable. As a freshman and sophomore, she claimed victory in the Poetry Out Loud competition and continued to impress as a regional finalist in her junior year. In the realm of academics, Mallory showcased her prowess at the Maine State Science Fair in both her junior and senior years, earning two scholarships in the process.
Demonstrating versatility, Mallory immersed herself in various student organizations, including Junior Achievement Titan, where she actively participated during her sophomore, junior and senior years. Her leadership skills were further highlighted as she assumed the role of Future Business Leaders of America president during both her junior and senior years.
Sports have been a significant part of Mallory’s high school experience. She has been a key player on the soccer, basketball, volleyball and tennis teams, with notable achievements such as being the Defensive Player of the Year in grade 9, earning the Most Improved Player award in 10th grade, and securing the Northern Maine Class D Sportsmanship Award in basketball in 2023. Her recognition extended to volleyball as well, being named the Most Valuable Player as a sophomore and received The Coaches Award as a sophomore and Most Valuable Player as a junior on the high school girls tennis team. With all of these accomplishments leading to Mallory being chosen as Van Buren’s Outstanding Female Scholar Athlete.
Mallory’s commitment to community involvement is equally commendable. She served on the Curriculum Committee and the ESEA Committee for MSAD #24, as well, showed her pride in the country by raising the flag for two years. Mallory’s efforts extended beyond school grounds, where she decorated storefront windows for the VBRA and worked as a tour guide at the Acadian Village. Mallory is also involved in her Catholic Church community serving as a youth lector since the age of 7.
As she prepares to embark on the next chapter of her academic journey, Mallory has been accepted to Husson University, where she will major in marketing and communications at NESCom. Her dedication to both academics and sports has been recognized with a well-deserved $40,000 Merit Scholarship. Additionally, Mallory will continue to showcase her tennis skills as a committed member of the women’s tennis team.
Van Buren High School congratulates Mallory and wishes her continued success as she pursues her academic and athletic endeavors at Husson University.
