HOULTON, Maine — The ninth-seededSchenck/Stearns cooperative team made the drive north to No. 8 Houlton/GHCA for a Class C North girls tennis tournament preliminary round match on May 30. Houlton/GHCA came out with a close 3-2 win over Schenck/Stearns to advance to the quarterfinals, which will be at top-seeded George Stevens Academy.
Houlton/GHCA swept the three singles matches, No. 1 Ryan Perfitt 8-3 over Marissa Cram, No. 2 Sophie Lorom 8-2 overJanessa Fiske-Smith and No. 3 Karyssa Kenney over 8-4 Sara Jandreau.
Schenck/Stearns won both doubles matches, No. 1 Stephanie Tuttle and Kealy Britton 8-5 over Rylee McLaughlin and Rhylie Booton, No. 2 Lucy Duff-Hebert and Morgan Nuccio 8-6 over Chloe Willigar and Rheia Booton.
