The 2024 moose lottery will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. at Fort Kent’s Riverside Park Pavilion this Saturday, June 15.
Hopeful applicants and other outdoor enthusiasts and family members can attend the drawing as well as experience a full day of outdoor-oriented fun.
Activities will be ongoing throughout the day on the grounds and in nearby tents from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Food trucks are planned. Baxter Brewing Company will host a beer garden. A number of vendor tents will also be on site offering Maine made products as well as outdoor merchandise.
There will be displays, demonstrations and a hunting seminar. And of course, the annual moose calling contest will be a big draw. The Maine Game Warden Service will conduct a canine demonstration and will also have an air boat display.
Seminars will include moose dressing, butchering, meat care and knife sharpening.
Children’s activities are planned including a bouncy house and face painting, and the park has new playground equipment to enjoy.
