PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — The Aroostook Hospice Foundation, owner of the Aroostook House of Comfort, is pleased to announce the 2nd Annual Walk for Hospice will take place on Saturday, September 14 at the Nordic Heritage Center in Presque Isle. All proceeds will benefit the Aroostook House of Comfort.
This year’s event is presented by event sponsor, McCrum Family Holdings, LLC. Jason Woollard, owner and CFO, presented Abbey Clair, executive director for the Aroostook Hospice Foundation, with a $5,000 check for this unique sponsorship.
McCrum’s has been a steadfast supporter of the Aroostook Hospice Foundation. Last year, they not only supported the 1st Annual Walk for Hospice as a Trail Sponsor, but they also took home the team fundraising award! Jay McCrum, owner and CEO shared, “McCrum’s mission is to be good citizens in our communities, our state, and country. Treating our community in a responsible manner. By supporting our community we allow a family to give their loved one the opportunity to pass with dignity and respect.” The Aroostook Hospice Foundation is honored to have such a respected business and family coming alongside them in this work.
The 2nd Annual Walk for Hospice will also take place in memory of Dr. David Jones, esteemed medical director, dedicated Aroostook Hospice Foundation board member and cherished friend. Three other sponsorship opportunities are available including Trail Sponsor ($500), Community Sponsor ($250) and Friend Sponsor ($100).
The mission of this special event is to raise funds, increase community hospice awareness, and celebrate the lives of those impacted by hospice. This is not a competitive event; and all ages and abilities are welcome. Registration is open until the day of the event, but to guarantee an event T-shirt and be eligible for prizes, one should register by August 19.
