CARIBOU, Maine – Cary Medical Center will take its 100th anniversary celebration to the Caribou Parks and Recreation’s Caribou Cares About Kids event on Saturday, July 27. The hospital will sponsor family entertainer Randy Judkins for two free shows, one at noon and another at 3 p.m. The show will be held inside the Wellness Center. The performance is part of an activity-filled four days focused on children and family entertainment.
“Caribou Cares About Kids provides another opportunity for us to celebrate this milestone in the history of the hospital,” said Bill Flagg, director of community relations and development at Cary. “We were so pleased that we could bring Randy Judkins to the County and we know he will do a great family show.”
Judkins has been entertaining audiences of all ages across America, especially in his home state of Maine for five decades. His comical character creations combined with physical circus arts, magic, and story-theater shape a memorable performance for the child in everyone. Whether balancing crazy objects on his chin, juggling five balls, or dashing across the stage on a ‘motorized’ monocycle, Jukinds makes the formally difficult look ridiculously simple. He involves ‘willing’ spectators in some routines. His humanity, infectious spirit, and comic timing endear him to all audiences.
Cary will also host a booth at the park featuring games including corn hole, ladder toss game, a bubble fun pool, and hula-hoops. The Anah Shrine Clowns will also be on hand for balloon animals and other fun activities. Karlee Willett, who coordinates special events for the community relations department at Cary said the entire effort is designed to bring joy and fun to children and families.
“Caribou Cares About Kids has taken on a tradition of family fun,” said Willett. “It’s great to be able to celebrate our 100th anniversary during this special weekend. We are so impressed with the work of the Caribou Recreation and Wellness Center. They have really put together an amazing four days filled with a variety of different activities for all to enjoy.”
