3-Day Outlook: Wed. July 17 – Fri. July 19 

An upper-level disturbance moves across the Valley later today producing a slight chance of showers and isolated thunderstorms. A cold front approaches tonight and crosses the region Thursday with scattered showers and thunderstorms for the SJV. Isolated strong to severe storms are also possible today. Thunderstorms may produce gusty winds and locally heavy rainfall. Heavy rainfall could cause minor flash flooding, especially of known low lying and poor drainage areas.

High pressure builds in from the Midwest Friday with mostly sunny skies and lower dew points producing less humid conditions. Mostly clear skies remain across the region Friday night with light southwest winds.

Daily Summary 

Today: Partly sunny. Patchy fog this morning. Isolated showers this afternoon. Highs in the lower 80s. Southwest winds 5 to 10 mph with gusts up to 20 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Tonight: Isolated thunderstorms in the evening. Partly cloudy with scattered showers. Patchy fog after midnight. Thunderstorms may produce gusty winds and heavy rainfall in the evening. Lows in the lower 60s. Southwest winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 40 percent.

Thursday: Partly sunny. Patchy fog in the morning. A chance of showers with a slight chance of thunderstorms in the morning, then a chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs in the upper 70s. West winds 5 to 10 mph with gusts up to 20 mph. Chance of rain 50 percent.

Thursday Night: Partly cloudy with a chance of showers with a slight chance of thunderstorms in the evening, then clear after midnight. Patchy fog after midnight. Lows in the mid-50s. West winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 50 percent.

Friday: Patchy fog in the morning. Sunny. Highs in the mid-70s. West winds 5 to 10 mph.

Friday Night: Clear. Lows in the upper 50s.


4-7 Day Outlook: Sat. July 20 – Tue. July 23

Clouds increase Saturday as another cold front approaches and moves through later Saturday into Sunday with scattered showers and thunderstorms across the region. Precipitation ends Sunday morning with a new ridge of high pressure building into the Saint John Valley. 

Cooler, less humid conditions will be notable Sunday with highs in the low 70s across the north and overnight lows falling into the lower 50s with some 40s in cooler valleys across northern areas. Partly cloudy skies are possible Monday as some moisture moves around the high-pressure ridge. A cold front affects the region Tuesday with a slight chance of afternoon showers.
