Marquis, still graceful at 103 — Lillian Marquis retired from dancing at 50, but the former dance teacher still asks when she sees a familiar face, “Were you one of my students?” Marquis celebrated her 103rd birthday with a party Thursday, July 10, 2014 at Ridgewood Estates. Her niece Linda Bechard, her only surviving family member, was with Marquis at the party as residents gathered to have tea and cake with her. Her birthday was Saturday, July 12, 2014.  Marquis was born in Grand Isle, one of eight siblings.
