PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — The Aroostook Hospice Foundation is excited to announce a $75,000 Matching Grant Campaign, made possible by the heartfelt generosity of an anonymous donor. This campaign, running from June 1 to December 31 aims to secure unrestricted funds essential for providing inpatient hospice care in Aroostook County. Every donation received through the Matching Grant Campaign will be matched up to $75,000.
The campaign is starting strong, with a generous $5,000 pledge from Pineland Farms. The Aroostook Hospice Foundation had the honor of welcoming Pineland Farms’ representatives for a tour of the Aroostook House of Comfort and a formal check presentation. This opportunity allowed for further understanding of the Aroostook House of Comfort’s service to the community, ongoing fundraising efforts, and day-to-day operations.
Established in 2009, the Aroostook Hospice Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, was dedicated to building and operating an inpatient hospice facility in Aroostook County. Following years of extensive fundraising and community efforts, the Aroostook House of Comfort opened its doors in 2018 and has since provided compassionate end-of-life care to over 1,000 individuals, while also addressing the unique needs of their families and caregivers.
“Our mission thrives thanks to the unwavering dedication and support of our community. We are profoundly grateful for Pineland’s generosity and for the remarkable opportunity extended to us by our anonymous donor,” said Abbey Clair, executive director of the Aroostook Hospice Foundation.
The Aroostook Hospice Foundation invites individuals, businesses, and organizations to contribute to the Matching Grant Campaign. Those interested can contact at 207-299-2053 or abbey@aroostookhouseofcomfort.org.
