Andwell Health Partners (formerly Androscoggin Home Healthcare + Hospice) has expanded its hospice services to Aroostook County.
“As Maine’s largest non-profit home and community-based healthcare and care management organization, we are driven to meet the growing and evolving needs of individuals and families,” said Ken Albert, president and CEO, Andwell Health Partners, who has deep family roots in Aroostook County. “We are pleased to help meet the unmet need for end-of-life services in The County.”
As a longtime resident of Houlton, Andwell’s Clarissa Sabattis knows first-hand the need for hospice services in Aroostook county.
“Living here in Aroostook County, I am proud to be part of Andwell Health Partners, bringing compassionate hospice care to every person in our community, especially with our aging population in mind,” said Sabattis, RN, BSN, Andwell Hospice. “Given the critical need for these services, it’s about respecting dignity and providing comfort during life’s final journey.”
Andwell offers in-home visits by nursing staff who, in conjunction with a primary care doctor, help manage pain, supply and order all prescriptions, and do regular visits to monitor vitals. Andwell therapists and case managers help ease the emotional discomfort that may accompany a terminal prognosis, and home aides provide personal care so caregivers can focus on their loved one.
“Our hospice services are delivered where patients live, whether that be in the home or a facility,” Heather Nadeau, Clinical Manager of Andwell Hospice. “Our team works in partnership with the patient, their family and primary doctor to reduce physical, emotional and spiritual discomfort through pain and symptom management, guidance and support.”
Serving all ages of hospice patients, from infancy to those who have lived full lives, Andwell’s hospice services are available to individuals regardless of ability to pay.
