CARIBOU, Maine — The annual Aroostook Saving and Loan Viking Run will be held at the Caribou High School track at 9 a.m. on Labor Day, Monday, September 2. Registration for the 10 different children’s races begins at 8 a.m.
Runners from age 2 through grade 8 are encouraged to attend. Pre-K and kindergarten runners compete in a .25-mile run (one lap). The first-, second-, third- and fourth-graders run a half mile (two laps). The fifth-, sixth-, seventh- and eighth-graders run one mile. There will be trophies for the top three male and female finishers in each race. Ribbons and T-shirts will be awarded to all the young athletes who are taking part.
