Miss Aroostook pageant crowns 14

The Miss Aroostook pageant was held recently in Caribou, crowning girls and young women who will advance to the Maine Academic Scholarship Pageant next September in South Portland.

The following are new title holders.

Esmaria Burns, 1, of Presque Isle, was crowned Miss Aroostook Baby Princess. She is the daughter of Tiffany and Mason Burns.

Taylor Beaulieu, 2, of Presque Isle, was crowned Miss Aroostook Spirit. She is a student at Early HeadStart Education. She received the award for the casual wear competition and supermodel. She has two sisters, Brooklyn and Danica.  She is the daughter of Matt and Julea Beaulieu.

Carmen Rooney, 3, was crowned Miss Aroostook Little Princess and received the People’s Choice Award and Interview Award. She resides in Mapleton with parents Daniel and Paige Rooney.

Madeline Clark, 5, of New Sweden, was crowned 2025 Miss Aroostook Young Princess.  She is a first-grade student at Caribou Community School The youngest of her three siblings, she is the daughter of Kelsey and Ryan Clark.   

Evalena Burns, 5, of Presque Isle, was crowned Miss Aroostook Hospitality. She is a student at Pine Street Elementary. She is the daughter of Lacey and Kevin Richardson and Tiffany and Mason Burns.

Brynlee Mae West, 6, was crowned Miss Aroostook Princess. She is a first grader at Caribou Community School. She is the daughter of Philip West III and Stephaine Klinger and has an older sister, Aleigha.  She is the granddaughter of Philip West Jr., Sue Mohan and Leann and Eric Johnson. 

Jaylynn McBreairty, 10, of New Sweden, was crowned 2025 Miss Aroostook Pre-Teen.  She is in fifth grade at Caribou Community School. The third oldest of eight siblings, she is the daughter of Kelsey Clark and Daniel McBreairty.   

Esmè Schools, 11, of Houlton, was crowned 2025 Miss Aroostook Director’s Choice. She is a student at Houlton Southside School. She is the daughter of Kira and Eric Schools and sibling to four sisters and a brother.

Bella Hartford, 13, of Addison was crowned 2025 Miss Northern Maine Jr. Teen. She is in eighth grade at D.W. Merritt Elementary School. She has a sister and a brother and is the daughter of Frank Hartford and Whitney Durkee.

Brooklynn Foster, 13 of Houlton, was crowned 2025 Miss Aroostook Young Teen. A student at Houlton Middle High School, she is the daughter of Scott and Miranda Foster. 

Natalie Bartlett 15, of Houlton was crowned Miss Aroostook Teen. She studies online.  

Serenity McLaughlin, 15, of Cherryfield, was crowned Miss Northern Maine Teen. She attends Narraguagus High School.

Sophia Gordon, 19, of Presque Isle, was crowned Miss Aroostook. She is a direct support professional at Personal Services of Aroostook. She is the daughter of Allison Moreau.

Melissa Libby, 42, of Fort Fairfield was crowned Mrs. Aroostook. She is a mom of two and has been married to her husband, Tyler, for 19 years. She is employed as a purchasing manager for Huber Engineered Woods.

The Maine academic scholarship pageant system emphasizes community service, and contestants raised more than $500 for the Aroostook County snack food drive. The drive was started by 2025 USA Ambassador Maine Teen Madelyn Sylvia when several Aroostook teachers said snack foods for those unable to bring them were one of their most urgent needs. 

Funds raised by the contestants were used to buy snacks for local classrooms.
