Judith A. ‘Judy’ Stedt

WOODLAND, Maine — Judith A. ‘Judy’ Stedt, 68, wife of the late William L. Stedt, passed away Friday afternoon, March 10, 2017, at a Mars Hill healthcare center. She was born July 29, 1948, in Caribou, the daughter of Edward and Marion (Hallett) McNeal.

She was a graduate of the Caribou High School class of 1966, and worked for the United States Postal Service as a letter carrier in Caribou and then later as a postal clerk in Caribou, until her retirement in 2013. Judy was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, aunt, and sister. Her family was her whole world, and she always made sure that her family was well taken care of. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband William, eight brothers, Edward, Hallett, Frank, Ferd, Darrell, Duane, Roger, and Ronnie McNeal. She is survived by two sons, Wade Stedt of Turner, and Daniel Stedt of Woodland, one daughter and son-in-law, Deidra and Eric Violette of Caribou, two brothers, Sam McNeal and his wife Kathleen of Powder Springs, GA, and Lynn and Betty McNeal of Caribou, one sister, Gloria Tomlinson of Temple, TX, five grandchildren, Danielle Violette of Westbrook, Amanda Violette of Caribou, Haley Stedt, Cortney Stedt, and Gunner Stedt all of Turner, numerous nieces and nephews, including a special niece Connie Michaud.
Judy’s family would like to extend special thanks to her niece, Connie, and Judy’s dear friend Paula Farmer, who both sat and visited with Judy throughout her last weeks. A graveside service will be conducted later in the spring at the New Sweden Cemetery at a date and time to be announced by the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou. www.mocklerfuneralhome.com
