The Oakfield Seniors met in spite of another snowstorm at the Smoki-Haulers clubhouse in Oakfield on April 5.
The business meeting was called to order, after everyone had enjoyed another delicious potluck luncheon, with The Lord’s Prayer followed by the Flag Salute.
Wannetta Townsend won the 50/50. Members recognized eight members with birthdays in April. Reports were read and accepted.
A new Matter of Balance program is planned. If you are interested in this activity please call Candy Easton at 551-6722 to be added to the waiting list. This is a great activity for seniors to learn how to keep agile and moving the right way.
The RSVP banquet to honor their volunteers will be in Presque Isle on Thursday, May 4.
The guest speaker was Christine McPherson from the Agency on Aging in Presque Isle, who shared information about the Friendly Visiting and Bone Builders programs. Volunteers are always needed; if you would like more info about this please call The Agency on Aging in Presque Isle.
Attending today were Christine McPherson, Marie Gillotti, Arlene Friel, Jeanne Clements, Bob and Delores Locke, Berniece Campbell, Bonnie Pratt, George Barrow, Earl and Lottie Doughty, Kathleen Boutilier, Everett and Barbara Doughty, Iona Nadeau, Wannetta Townsend and Don and Charlotte Marley.
The next meeting will be on Wednesday, April 19, at the clubhouse. All seniors are welcome to join.
