The Mars Hill Rotary Club met Tuesday morning, April 4, 2017, at 6:30 at the Aroostook Health Center. The guest speaker was Rick Duncan, chairman of the Aroostook Hospice Foundation.
He spoke about the work being done on the House of Comfort that is under construction in Presque Isle. It is a state-of-the-art facility that will have 6 suites for use by families from Medway to Fort Kent.
Planning for the facility started 8 years ago. They are funding the facility with loans from the USDA. Visiting Nurses of Aroostook will be running the facility and providing hospice care as well as renting part of the facility for their offices. This will help offset the mortgage payments.
Anyone who would like to have a tour is welcome to stop by. The facility is up in behind the Presque Isle Inn and Convention Center.
