HOULTON, Maine — The annual Southern Aroostook Trade Show was another rousing success for the Greater Houlton Chamber of Commerce over the weekend.

According to Jane Torres, executive director for the chamber, just over 1,800 people attended this year’s event, which featured a wide range of exhibitors.

“The Trade Show this weekend was a huge success,” she said. “Many thanks to all of the vendors who pulled out all the stops to make beautiful booths and truly interacted with the attendees.”

This year’s trade show featured a wide variety of vendors, many geared toward spring cleaning, home improvement and gardening.

One of the many raffles offered at the trade show was conducted by Cameron Clark, who sculpted a forest ranger bear in memory of Maine Forest Ranger Jeremiah Crockett. That bear was won by Josh McLaughlin, who donated the sculpture to the Rangers’ station in Island Falls.

“Thanks to the people who came through the door, and stayed to visit, buy and gather information,” Torres said. “Mostly, thanks to all of those involved with the Civic Center who make the setup look effortless.”
