DYER BROOK, Maine — Southern Aroostook Community School hosted the the Northern Maine Regional National Honor Society Spring Conference on Thursday, April 6.
NHS members from Ashland, Central Aroostook, East Grand, Easton, Hodgdon, Katahdin, Limestone, Madawaska, Presque Isle and Wisdom joined Southern Aroostook Community School at this year’s event.
The 2017 service project focused on gathering items for the Sister Mary O’Donnell Homeless Shelter of Presque Isle, the only homeless shelter in Aroostook County. The NHS chapters attending the event participated in a business meeting, multiple games and activities, and the gathering of the numerous collected items needed by the homeless shelter.
At the conclusion of the evening Pamela Murchison, the Easton NHS chapter adviser for 26 years, was presented with flowers for her retirement before completing her last official duty of adjourning the meeting.
