Preparations for Easter dinner were put on hold for a couple hours Sunday afternoon when more than 1,600 Emera Maine customers lost power.
Customers in Presque Isle, Fort Fairfield and Caribou saw the lights go out mid-afternoon on Sunday. April 16 after a small crow caused a fuse on a transformer to blow at a substation in Presque Isle, according to a utility spokesperson.
Line workers were dispatched to make repairs to the substation and power was restored around 3 p.m.
Easter’s outage came just days before National Lineman Appreciation Day on Tuesday, April 18.
