HOULTON, Maine — Three Houlton residents who allegedly made a false report to police late last year about an armed robbery at a local redemption center and beer store, to hide their involvement in the theft of an undisclosed amount of money were indicted by the Aroostook County grand jury this month.

Kristin Ganote, 20, was indicted on charges of theft, false public report and unsworn falsification. Derrick R. White, 27, a co-worker at the time, was indicted on charges of theft and false public report. The third former co-worker allegedly involved, 24-year-old Joseph C. Gould, was indicted on a theft charge.

According to Houlton Police Chief Tim Deluca, a Thirsty Dawg employee reported to police on Dec. 9, 2016 that a man about 6 feet tall with a slim to medium build and dressed in a camouflage jacket, black pants, black ski mask and black gloves walked into the store, brandished a gun and demanded money.

The suspect then reportedly fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash taken from the business.
