PRESQUE ISLE and BANGOR, Maine — The Bangor and Presque Isle-based financial services firm of Thompson-Hamel LLC has announced that two employees have recently earned professional designations that will allow them to provide added services to the company’s client base.
Pam Scheppele, based at the firm’s Presque Isle office, has earned the Retirement Income Certified Professional (RICP) designation from the American College of Financial Services. Candidates for the RICP designation must complete a minimum of three college-level courses and are required to pass a series of two-hour proctored exams. They must also have three years of experience, meet stringent ethics requirements, and participate in the college’s continuing education program.
Scheppele has been an Associate at Thompson-Hamel for nearly 29 years, and according to Thompson-Hamel’s Managing Partner, Brian Hamel, “Pam now has the education and tools to assist Thompson-Hamel in preparing plans that will help increase the likelihood its clients to have sustainable income in retirement. From Social Security planning strategies, to estate tax issues, our clients will find the help they need to create a secure future and we are so pleased Pam took the initiative to secure this RICP designation for the benefit of our clients.”
Scheppele also has a Maine Life & Health insurance license, and has earned the Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) and Chartered Life Underwriters (CLU) designations.
Natalie Nadeau, based in Bangor at the company’s 27 State St. office, recently passed her Maine Life & Health insurance licensing exam and thus can offer her Thompson-Hamel clients with life, disability income and long-term care insurances, as well as fixed and equity indexed annuities. Nadeau is currently preparing to take her Series 6 Registered Securities Representative licensing exam.
“We are very pleased with the way in which Natalie has hit the ground running in the greater Bangor market,” stated Hamel, “and her securing a life and health license so quickly after joining our firm in January 2017, combined with her efforts to become securities registered in the near future, is added evidence of her commitment to offering her clients a full array of planning services.”
Nadeau came to Thompson-Hamel with retail and commercial banking experience in the Bangor area market, with three years at Machias Savings Bank and eight-plus years at Camden National Bank, most recently as an assistant vice president of treasury management and government banking.
