Ark Animal Sanctuary — April 26, 2017

One of the new tenants at The Ark is a beautiful black and white kitty named Indra.

Indra came to the Ark as a stray. She had been dropped off alongside the road this past winter.  Indra is around 7 years old and has been spayed and tested negative for AIDS and feline leukemia. She is also fully vaccinated.  She is a wonderful plus-size kitty who loves attention and to be brushed.  Indra cannot get enough love. She will purr and roll on her back. She is just a happy girl looking for a new home.

Indra’s only drawback is that she does not like other cats or dogs.  If you are looking for a real love bug, Indra is your girl.  She would love a nice quiet home where someone will pay attention to her and give her the love and life she so deserves. If you think you would be interested in her, please come by The Ark and meet her. I guarantee she will melt your heart.

Another one of  our kitties looking for a home is Maxwell.  He is a gorgeous all-white male with blue eyes. Maxwell is 10 years old and he is deaf.  He is a big boy, neutered, tested and fully vaccinated.  Just like Indra, Maxwell does not seem to like other cats, but he is a show-off when it comes to humans. He loves attention and he has quite the little motor.

The new sanctuary will have four more new tenants after Thursday. Three of them are feral and one has special needs.  They all go to the vet on Thursday for vaccines and testing and then to their new home at the sanctuary.  After their arrival, the feral cat room will be full.

Our special-needs kitty is a beautiful three-legged torti who is semi-feral.  Her name is Amazing Grace, and it suits her.  Grace had been shot three times and then hit by a car which broke her leg so badly it had to be amputated she also had four fractures to her pelvis. Grace is truly an amazing girl.

Things are starting to fall into place at the sanctuary. We have had enough volunteers to be open 10-2 Monday through Friday and every other Saturday. If you would like to volunteer, please call Lorraine at The Hollywood Pet Salon, 532-7387.

In the next few weeks, weather permitting, we are in hopes to open the outdoor cat pens so everyone can get some fresh air, so stay tuned for updates.

After Thursday The Ark will be home to 27 cats, leaving only two to be pulled back from foster care.

Thank you for your continued support, and as always, thank you for reading our column.
