AUBURN, Maine — Marie Anna (Annie) Michaud Quist, 97, passed away on Monday, April 17, 2017, at Clover Health Care in Auburn, Maine. Annie was born in Caribou, Maine on December 29, 1919, the daughter of Frank and Sophie (Michaud) Michaud.
From the time of her marriage to Sigward, until the age of 90, Annie was a resident of Stockholm, Maine and an active member of Stockholm’s Trinity Lutheran Church. She was a beloved and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grand-mother and great-great-grand-mother.
Always a homemaker at heart, she cooked and cleaned with great care for those she loved. Her fluffy dinner rolls, “War Cake” and many other delicious desserts will long be remembered.
At the time of Annie’s passing, she was survived by three sons, Howard Quist of Scarborough, Wilmer Quist of Stockholm, David Quist and his wife, Genie Gannett of Silver Springs, Fla. and Readfield; and one daughter, Linda Kautz and her husband, Maurice Kautz of Harrison. She is also survived by 15 grand-children, 23 great-grand-children, two great-great-grand-children and many nephews and nieces. Also surviving Annie are her sister, Leona Petroski of Enfield, Conn.; and brother, Arthur Michaud of Caribou. She was predeceased by her husband, John Sigward Quist; sisters, Alice Lagasse and Iva Sparks; brothers, Edward, George, Guy, William and Leonard; and great-grandson, Josh Quist.
