CARIBOU, Maine — Clifford J. Chaloult, 94, passed away April 23, 2017, at Caribou. He was born in Caribou, March 20, 1923, the son of the late Thomas and Alice (Baron) Chaloult.
Mr. Chaloult attended Caribou schools. He was a self-employed farmer and potato grower on the Van Buren Road in Caribou for many years. Later, he was employed at Potato Service. He married Mary Mae (Cyr) Chaloult on June 20, 1950 and she predeceased him in 2004.
He is survived by his children, Gary Chaloult and wife, Myra of Oakland, Gaylene Chaloult of Stratham, NH, Ronald Chaloult of Gorham, Nancy Chaloult of Melbourne, FL, Roger Chaloult, and Lisa Quist and her fiancée, Tom Martin, all of Caribou; one sister, Edna Velowski of East Hartford, CT; a brother, Reginald Chaloult of Van Buren; four grandchildren, Jennifer and Eric Chaloult, and Joshua and Carter Quist; several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Earlene Langlais. Mr. Chaloult was predeceased by his brothers and sisters, Nivard, Janelle, Ramona, and Philip Chaloult, and Orilla Turner.
Friends may call at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou, from 6 to 8pm, Thursday, April 27, 2017. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11am Friday, from the Parish of the Precious Blood Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, North Caribou.
